About Dr. Michael…
My name is Dr. Michael Laffins. I attended the University of Nevada Reno and obtained an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice in 1990 and subsequently my pre-veterinary science education in 1995. I then received a Veterinary degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO in 1999.
Upon graduating from vet school, I had a private companion animal practice for 1.5 years and then entered laboratory animal medicine in 2000. I am currently the head of surgery and colony health care at Charles River Laboratories Safety Assessment site in Reno, NV.
In 2015 I started what is now Reno Pet Euthanasia to specifically provide at home pet euthanasia services across Northern Nevada and Northeastern California as I really wanted to help others have the opportunity to experience a more peaceful and dignified passing of their cherished pets.
I have been married for 27 years and have two teenagers and a dog named Tucker that we rescued.
My hobbies include hiking, running, fishing, boating, snow skiing and reading.
